The Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada (CHF Canada) in partnership with regional federations has created 2020 Vision — a process that will help your co‑op look clearly at what your community values, the quality of your management, governance, and environmental sustainability. Once you see all of these things clearly, you can create a vision and plan for your co-op’s future.
2020 Vision aims to have all co‑ops meet high standards of operation — those that are preparing for the end of their operating agreement, as well as those that are not. Any co‑op that starts planning for its future and working on the standards of 2020 Vision is building a sound foundation for the future. COCHF offers the 2020 Compass. The 2020 Compass is a tool your co‑op can use to meet one of the 2020 Standards, developing a mission and vision based on our common co‑op housing values. You will have a 2020 Compass facilitator come to your co‑op and help you take the steps to agree on a mission and vision that’s right for your co‑op. The Compass is a very inclusive process that engages your co‑op’s members, not just the leadership, in deciding on the mission and vision that matter to you, now and for the future.
